Follow these simple steps to ensure your loaves are fresh, delicious, and ready to share with friends and family.

Step 1: Store Your Sourdough Properly

  • Unbox Your Shipment: Open your package and inspect your loaves. Each box contains your sourdough loaves, vaccum sealed to maintain freshness.
  • Enjoy Now (optional): Skip to Step 2, Preheat Your Oven.
  • Freeze for Later (optional): Place the loaves in your freezer immediately. They can be stored for up to 3 months.

Step 2: Prepare Your Sourdough

  • Get Ready: 4-6 hours before you're ready to enjoy a loaf, take it out of the freezer. Remove the packaging and let the loaf defrost at room temperature.
  • Preheat Your Oven: Set your oven to 450°F.
  • Reheat Your Sourdough: Place the defrosted loaf on a cookie sheet, or directly on the oven racks if you prefer a crispier crust. Reheat for 5-20 minutes, depending on how crusty you like your bread. Do not place bread in the oven with other moist items—like chicken or brisket—it will ruin the crust.

Step 3: Serve and Enjoy

  • Cool the Loaf: Let the loaf cool on a rack. Cooling helps lock in the sourdough's flavor and texture.
  • Serve Warm: For the best experience, serve the loaf slightly warm. Pair it with your favorite spreads, soups, or toppings, and enjoy the moment.
